KeymasterHi Andrew and Valerie,
We periodically add new themes, often in response to requests from users. If you have a suggestion, let me know. However, the more we add, the more there are to maintain, and we have limited resources, so we can’t add a great many.
We can enable Jetpack on request for users. That includes a subscribe option.
It should be possible to add Twitter content without Jetpack, using the embed code from the twitter site, and adding it to an html widget.
Best wishes,

KeymasterHi Silvia,
The way the export / import works is that when importing the xml file to another instance of WordPress, the media files are downloaded automatically from the old site, as long as it still exists.
If you need a local copy of your media files, please send me a personal message.
Best wishes,

KeymasterHi Darryl,
Were you using the Flash button on the toolbar to upload the .flv? I will do some tests, but I’m pretty sure it has worked for me in the past. Would you be able to share the file with me somewhere so that I can try it out? Perhaps a public Dropbox link or something like that?

KeymasterI’ll put it on my list of things to look into Silvia, but I think you have covered it quite well in the meantime with your ’About Me’ text. I suppose it might be a useful option in future, if e.g. we want to filter users by college.

KeymasterI added a plugin to allow for the use of Google Maps. Please see this post: http://myblog.arts.ac.uk/2010/11/09/google-maps-and-twitter-feeds/

KeymasterHmm, now my Google Maps post is just showing a link, not the embedded map. It seems that WordPress strips out iframes, which is what Google supplies in their embed code.
I’ll have a look into workarounds.

KeymasterHi Chris,
Let me know if you’d like to have the other blog as group blog. I can look into it.

KeymasterHi Ollie,
Do you mean posts by the group members to their own blogs, or to the group blog?
I’m working on an email subscription system which will be ready soon.In the meantime though, you can use RSS feeds, which may be a better solution. Have you used Google Reader or another blog reader? Sign up to Google Reader. Then you can subscribe to the blogs you’re interested in by RSS, and any updates to the blogs you’re subscribed to will appear in your Google Reader page. So you could have a folder in Google Reader devoted to your myblog.arts subscriptions.
To subscribe to a blog, click on the RSS icon in the browser address bar. (Square with ‘radio waves’ in the corner.) You’ll be asked to choose what service you want to use to subscribe with. Choose Google Reader, or another blog reader you have an account with. Or, in Google Reader, just add the URL of the blog you want to subscribe to.
Hope that makes sense – if not give me a call. I realise that this is an important feature so I will post updates as they happen.
Best wishes,

KeymasterIt worked OK here Andy. Did you copy and paste the html code, not the IM/email code? Did you paste it into the HTML view when creating your post? (Choose HTML tab instead of Visual tab in the text editor.)
